Purpose-led Education: Education for Sustainable Development Book is launched:
Are you still wondering how to shape students’ perspectives, behaviours and long-term commitment to champion sustainability and societal progress?
After leading Taylor’s Purpose-led Education through Impact Labs for 3 years, we are truly excited to announce the launch of our book “Purpose-led Education: Education for Sustainable Development”.
This book is edited together with Veronica Ng, and in collaboration with Taylor’s Impact Labs.
We are grateful to Professor Charles Hopkins, UNESCO Chair for Reorienting Education for Sustainability, York University, Canada, for the very inspiring Foreword.
We are also very grateful for the endorsements from Associate Professor Wan Zuhainis Saad, Former Director, Academic Excellence Division, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia (2018-2022), and from Professor Debbie Haski-Leventhal, the author of The Purpose-Driven University.
This book serves as a how-to guide for academics seeking to reorient their teaching and learning to support Education for Sustainable Development, thereby nurturing students’ sustainability competencies and commitment to acting for a sustainable future.
This book features 10 chapters that present diverse educational framing and interventions, ranging across pharmacy, psychology, education, architecture, interior architecture, computer science, and engineering, and that contribute to various SDGs, orienting higher education towards sustainability.
My special thanks to the authors of the 10 chapters and my colleagues, who make this book possible.
